For the past three years, we at Fortiche have been incredibly lucky to have Qarnot Computing as a partner. So, when our 15th anniversary rolled around, Qarnot came up with the most brilliantly Fortiche way to celebrate: a surprise that blended tech, creativity, and, yes, absolutely, BEER!

And what made this even more special? This brew also became a unique way to toast the season 2 of Arcane.

This whole crazy idea was born from a casual conversation at the Annecy Festival. Philippe Llerena (our CTO) and Ariane (Qarnot’s Head of Sales) were brainstorming how to repurpose the heat from our 3D animation renders. 

‘Beer?’ came up. 

Turns out that Qarnot’s system produced hot water at exactly the right temperature for brewing – What a coincidence! 

But how do you make beer from computers?!

Simple. 

We basically used our computers to crank out animation renders, and all that processing power generated a lot of heat. 

That’s where Qarnot’s brilliant tech comes into play. Qarnot’s genius lies in their ability to capture that ‘waste’ heat, that ‘fatal’ heat, and transform it. With some calculations and computer servers, they turned it into hot water!

And this very hot water?

It became the key ingredient for our special, limited-edition craft beer. It’s like taking the digital heart of our animations – and turning it into something you can actually hold in your hand (and drink!). 

This brew is more than just a beer; it’s a symbol of our partnership with Qarnot, our commitment to innovation and sustainability, and a celebration of creativity in all its forms!
