Fortiche: Can you tell us about your career?

Before becoming a 3D Graphic Designer, I first worked as a Graphic / Web Designer. I quickly realized that I wanted an even more rewarding experience and I continued my studies in a 3D Animation school.

‍

After graduating, I worked at Illumination Mac Guff on the movie Minions as a Character Modeler, Set and Props Modeler and CFX Artist. Then, I alternated productions between Mikros Image and Illumination Mac Guff on the films Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods, Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion, Despicable Me  3, The Grinch, Life of Pets 2... as Character and Facial Shapes Modeler.

Then one day, I joined Fortiche Production as a Facial Shape Modeler. I worked on the pilot of Arcane (the first episode of the series), then I went on with the Rise and K/DA POP STAR music videos, and finally I became Facial Shapes Modeling Supervisor on the Arcane series.

F: Why did you choose this career path?

‍

I've always been passionate about the world of IT and computer creation. When I was young, I used to write Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials for French magazines. And I’ve always been thrilled to watch animated movies making-of.

I knew that what would fascinate me and make me want to get up in the morning, was to work on this type of project!

F: How long have you been working with Fortiche?

‍

I have been working at Fortiche for over 4 years, since July 2017 to be exact.

‍

F: What is your role on the project or at Fortiche?

‍

At Fortiche, I oversee the Facial Shape Modeling department, which consists of modeling all the facial expressions on the characters' faces. This allows the animators to combine and animate them to bring them to life.

‍

F: What is your best memory at Fortiche or do you have an anecdote to share with us?

‍

My best memory, by far, is a party in October, organized by Fortiche to celebrate - after more than 4 years of work - the end of Arcane!!! Caterers, bartenders, cosplay, table soccer, previews... and so on!
