job description

To lead the Assets production unit (characters/props), we are looking for an experienced Head of Assets who can blend artistic vision with technical efficiency.

If you have solid experience in 3D animation and thrive on managing teams while optimizing complex workflows, this might be the role for you!

PRIMARY MISSIONS

Reporting to our Head of CG, you will be the guarantor of the creation and maintenance of all our Assets (characters and props), ensuring compliance with directors' requirements, schedule, and budget.

Your responsibilities will be divided into two main areas:

Supervision and Production Arbitration

  • You will analyze scripts, moodboards, and animatics to anticipate the artistic and technical challenges of each project.

  • You will act as the artistic and technical liaison between the creative team (Directors, Art Directors) and the Assets departments (Design, Modeling, Shapes, Groom, Rigging, Textures).

  • You will supervise the Department Supervisors to ensure their methodology aligns with the projects' ambitions.

  • You will monitor the complexity level of the Assets and propose solutions to meet artistic and technical needs while respecting budget and schedule constraints.

  • You will participate, alongside the Assets Production Director, in necessary arbitrations for the smooth progress of projects.

Continuous Improvement of the Character/Props Unit

  • You will manage the Supervisors and support them in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and workflows.

  • You will drive the improvement of existing workflows and tools, collaborating with other production units (Environments, Animation, Final Image).

  • You will work closely with the Production team and the Head of CG to anticipate human and technical needs related to multi-project work.

  • You will identify and prioritize internal and cross-functional projects to advance our production strategy.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Pre-qualification interview with the Talent Acquisition team

  • Interview with our Head of CG and our Assets Production Director

  • Interview with our Head of Production

  • Final interview with the Creative Leadership

Our ideal profile

This is a supervisory and expert role, so we need a strong candidate:

  • 15+ years of experience in the animation industry, including at least 5 years in a supervisory position.

  • You are comfortable with team management.

  • You have a very good knowledge of Maya and a good command of other commonly used 2D/3D software.

  • You have a very good command of French and English, both spoken and written.

  • You have a very good understanding of the 3D production chain.

Your soft skills are essential:

You have true leadership skills, you are solution-oriented, proactive, and you have good analytical and decision-making skills. And of course, you are a good communicator and a good listener.
